That I am aware of, no plea deal has been expressed or offered by the U.S. regarding Assange.

Nor have any diplomatic efforts been engaged by Australia to negotiate such a thing.

Regardless of the stance of Fitzgerald and team, and public relations efforts aside, it seems the prerequisite to accepting a plea, would be an actual plea offer.

Here is the quandary:

If Assange takes a plea deal for time served, *if* such a thing were offered. It really sanctions the entire process and gives the unfair representation that Julian is guilty.

It also offers the IC a lot of precedent to move on for other cases in the future.

The point of forcing them to drop the case is about much more than Julian's freedom. It is about preventing that process from becoming repetitiously used against people.

So, in a plea deal, Assange is essentially admitting guilt, which means everything that has occurred up until that point becomes pretty much par for the course.

And that* is hugely dangerous. Because it is almost a back door into codifying those despicable practices they've used against him.

Food for thought, freeing Assange must be done in such a way that eliminates the risk presented through the case.

The Free Assange movement continues to grow.
