Scott Bennie, Original Fallout Writer Who Named Dogmeat, Has Died

Scott Bennie, producer, writer, and designer for multiple video games, tabletop sourcebooks, and more, has died. He was 61. A post on Bennie's Facebook page confirmed the cause of death was due to complications from pneumonia.

Bennie is best known for his stint at Interplay during the 1990s, where he worked as a producer and designer on several RPG games including the studio's The Lord of The Rings adaptations and strategy title Castles: Northern Campaign, Star Trek titles, including Starfleet Command 1 and 2, Starfleet Academy, as well as the original Fallout game.

👨‍💻 Rust has released an update that includes improvements to communication and quality of life in the game. Among the improvements are bookmarks that can be shared with group members and pings, which allow you to indicate location and duration as needed. In addition, the option of a double saddle for horses has been added, which can be very useful at the start of the server. Improvements have also been made to some in-game models and popular weapons.
