Thomas Crooks’ cell phone was pictured alongside a remote transmitter and his dead body atop the manufacturing plant where he shot former President Donald Trump — as it was revealed he asked his boss for a day off of work because he has “something to do.”

The gray, 12-button remote and the “newer model” phone were recovered from the 20-year-old’s body on top of the AGR International Inc. Complex after a Secret Service sniper team fatally shot him during Saturday’s rally, according to photos obtained by WPXI.

The transmitter is believed to have been connected to an explosive device found inside Crooks’ car as investigators suggested that he had planned to stage a distraction during the shooting.

A photo of would-be assassin Thomas Crooks, that was circulated to law enforcement before the crazed gunman attempted to kill ex-president Donald Trump, has been released publicly. 

Crooks, 20, attracted the attention of the Secret Service and local cops who were charged with securing the event, held in Butler, Pennsylvania, 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, on July 14. 

The gunman was acting strangely around the metal detectors that attendees were forced to walk through before entering the event grounds. Witnesses said that Crooks was furiously checking his phone and operating a hunting range finder.

He attempted entry around this point but set the detector off and was refused, sources said. 

Later, around 5:30pm a picture of Crooks was circulated to various members of the Secret Service after reports about his suspicious behavior were made to security. The picture shows Crooks wearing a t-shirt with the logo for popular YouTube channel Demolition Ranch.
